distractions

20 Apr

I’m currently distracted by a new iPod Touch. It’s fantastic and I love it.

I want to change up what I listen to a little. I don’t listen to many podcasts. I download The Rachel Maddow Show, Wine Library TV, sometimes Keith Olbermann.

Does anyone listen other podcasts? Let me know!

edited to add: also been listening to/watching Freezer Burns. I don’t consume too many frozen foods, but it is so fun to watch someone else review contents of the freezer aisle.

Last night, we went to see the Indigo Girls. It was really fun but I didn’t enjoy it as much as I could have, due to just being tired. They played songs I haven’t heard live, like “Hammer and a Nail” along with songs I really don’t care to hear live again but cannot avoid, like “Closer to Fine” and “Galileo.” Both wonderful songs but just tired of hearing them at every IG show I go to. Which, admittedly, isn’t many. But enough. Shawn Mullins opened up for them. I haven’t heard anything from him in quite some time, which is sad. He’s a good artist with a unique voice. You can tell he really loves what he’s doing.

Also last night, I dreamt that our upstairs neighbor was kidnapping people and when I tried to rescue them, he ended up kidnapping me too.  I wish I could remember the rest.  It was disturbing.

Must remember that upstairs neighbor really is a nice man.  And not a kidnapper.

Today, I’m working on a rough draft of a paper that’s due soon.

Lame attempt at blogging more, but also, just saying what’s on my mind.

I started taking Saturday classes to become a paralegal on Feb 28th.  Since then, it’s been lots of chaos and not nearly as much time for anything as fun!  It’s interesting but I get about a month off in a few weeks and I’m really looking forward to it. Then I’ll start a Legal Research & Writing class in June.

Things I want to do: read a few YA books that have just been published. or that are soon-to-be published, plus a few that I’ve been meaning to get to, like Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta and Paper Towns by John Green.
I also have a few projects I was knitting that I want to finish. First on my list, the pair of Roza’s socks by the talented Grumperina.  I was really happy with my progress until I had to put them down to finish some school work.

I’m thinking about re-tooling the blog a little.  I am starting to feel like I don’t blog b/c I have little to say.  I was thinking about starting a new chapter by maybe reviewing some books, yarns, and other things that interest me.
We’ll see how that goes. Stay tuned!
